How Design Projects Work
A transparent, structured process — from initial requirement through brief, direction, concepts, refinement, and asset handover.
Submit Design Requirement
You share your business goals, design service required, existing brand assets, audience overview, required deliverables, preferred style direction, timeline, usage requirements, and any content or materials you already have.
StudioHive reviews your requirement, checks scope clarity, and confirms what additional information is needed before the brief is structured.
That a design enquiry has been received and the scope is clear enough to proceed to brief stage.
A clear requirement at the outset shapes the entire project — scope, deliverables, timeline, and cost can only be confirmed once the requirement is understood.
Build Creative Brief
You confirm the full creative scope: deliverables, revision rounds, source file requirements, usage rights, timelines, third-party asset arrangements, print or production requirements, and any content, copy, or assets you will supply.
StudioHive structures a clear creative brief from the confirmed information — covering all agreed deliverables, design direction parameters, and project terms.
Agreed scope, deliverables, usage rights, file formats, revision rounds, timelines, third-party requirements, and project terms before any design work begins.
A signed-off brief prevents scope creep, misaligned expectations, and disputes about what's included — protecting both studio and client.
Define Creative Direction
You confirm visual preferences, brand references, imagery direction, tone, and any existing assets that inform the design direction.
StudioHive defines the creative direction from the brief — including visual style, design approach, colour direction, type choices, and initial layout thinking.
The creative direction and design approach before full design production begins.
Confirming direction before full production avoids significant rework if the visual approach is not aligned with your expectation.
Create Design Concepts
You receive design concepts and review against the agreed brief, your business requirements, and the confirmed creative direction.
StudioHive produces design concepts across the agreed deliverables — applying the creative direction, brand system, and brief requirements.
Design concepts are presented against the confirmed brief for review and feedback.
Concept stage establishes the core visual direction before refinement — your feedback here shapes the final design.
Refine Selected Direction
You provide structured feedback within the agreed revision rounds — referencing the brief rather than introducing new requirements outside scope.
StudioHive applies revisions within the agreed revision scope — refining the design to meet confirmed requirements.
Revisions are applied within the agreed revision rounds as confirmed in the brief.
Structured revisions within agreed rounds ensure quality refinement without scope creep or uncontrolled changes.
Prepare & Export Assets
You confirm final approval on the design before assets are prepared for export.
StudioHive prepares final assets in the agreed export formats, file types, sizes, colour profiles, and handover structure — including any usage guidance, asset sets, or templates confirmed in scope.
Final assets are prepared to the agreed specifications and handover structure.
Correct file preparation ensures your assets are ready for their intended use — print, digital, web, or production.
Handover
You receive the final design assets as confirmed in the agreed scope and handover structure.
StudioHive delivers the final files, confirms handover, and provides any usage guidance as agreed.
Final asset delivery as per the agreed scope, formats, and handover documentation.
A structured handover ensures you have everything you need — in the right formats, correctly named, and clearly documented.
Review Future Design Needs
You consider future design requirements — additional assets, updates, new campaigns, collateral, packaging, or ongoing brand design support.
StudioHive can discuss future design needs as a new enquiry — based on confirmed scope and requirements.
Future design support is discussed and scoped as a separate new enquiry.
Ongoing brand design needs are handled as clearly scoped individual projects — ensuring each requirement is properly reviewed and structured.
Scope, Deliverables & Usage — Confirmed Per Project
Every design project is confirmed individually. The following areas are clearly agreed before work begins.
Creative Scope
The full range of design work, deliverables, and output confirmed in the brief.
Deliverables
Specific files, formats, assets, and design outputs confirmed at the start of each project.
File Formats
Export formats for digital, print, and web use confirmed individually per project.
Revision Rounds
The agreed number of structured revision rounds included in the project scope.
Editable / Source Files
Whether editable files and source files are included is confirmed in the agreed scope.
Usage Rights
Usage rights for design deliverables are confirmed per project — including scope of use, platforms, and exclusivity if relevant.
Print Requirements
Print production, proofing, colour matching, and supplier requirements are confirmed separately.
Third-Party Assets
Stock imagery, licensed fonts, third-party mockups, photography, and external assets have their own separate costs, rights, and restrictions.
Timelines
Project timelines are confirmed per project, taking into account brief complexity and revision scope.
Scope, Results & Legal Clarity
Creative Scope Note Creative scope, deliverables, file formats, usage rights, revision rounds, third-party assets, print or production requirements, timelines, and final handover terms are confirmed individually for each enquiry.
Design Outcomes Note Design outcomes, audience response, campaign results, sales, engagement, and brand growth are not guaranteed. Design deliverables provide visual communication materials; commercial performance depends on many factors outside the scope of design services.
Trademark & Legal Note Brand identity design does not include trademark registration, legal clearance, name clearance, or intellectual property advice unless separately arranged with appropriate specialists. Trademark searches, legal protection, and regulatory compliance remain the client's responsibility.
Print Production Note Print production, paper stock, colour matching, finishing, proofing, and print outcomes may depend on third-party printers and separate production arrangements. Print specifications, bleed requirements, colour profiles, and supplier requirements should be confirmed before going to print.
